Vital Bridges seeks AIDS
Run & Walk participants

Dear Friends:

Fall is just around the corner. For most of us, fall is a time to start bundling up against cooler nights. You can share a little of that warmth with others by joining Vital Bridges in the AIDS Run & Walk this September.

For more than 18 years, Vital Bridges (formerly Open Hand, Community Response and HIVCO) has assisted thousands of people with HIV and AIDS throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. We have helped to create better lives and brighter futures by providing much-needed food to the neediest members of our community.

We need your help! Please lend a hand to over 2,100 men, women and children living with AIDS by putting together a team on behalf of Vital Bridges for the AIDS Run & Walk. The event takes place on Saturday, Sept. 20, in Grant Park and includes a 5K (3.1 mile) walk and run. This is Chicago’s largest AIDS-focused event, drawing much needed attention to HIV and AIDS and the people living with this disease.

We’ll provide the pledge sheets and any other tools you might need. They are available online through the AIDS Foundation at www.aidschicago.org. All you have to do is collect pledges and show up and walk. Please ask your students, friends, colleagues and coworkers to do their part to support people living with HIV/ AIDS throughout Chicago.

Every dollar collected from Team Vital Bridges comes back to Vital Bridges.

It’s easy to participate:

  • Register your team online (be sure to register as part of Team Vital Bridges) or through Vital Bridges.
  • Begin soliciting team participants.
  • Set a team fund-raising goal and stay connected with your team members.
  • Send in registration forms and pledges.

What better way to offer hope than to raise money for those who truly need it? It’s a great way to give back and help those in your community.

Feel free to call Community Outreach Manager Todd Williams for any support you need at 773-665-1000 or send e-mail to twilliams@vitalbridges.org.
